As a project tool SharePoint is a great product, it enables all files to be kept in one place and for all the project team to use those files and collaborate on the project. One problem stopping user adoption which I have found to be an issue too, is the ability to upload files and edit files easily. SharePoint 2010 has a way of having quite a few niffy features, I am not sure if 2007 had this feature but SharePoint 2010 definitely sold it to me without me realising. I created an alert in SharePoint to alert me when any new articles appeared on the discussion board. When the alert came through a handy little icon at the top left of the email read "Connect to Discussion Board" Doing this created a folder in Outlook where all messages from the discussion board were held. At the moment the discussion board isn't used that much but I can see this being a really useful feature as it means I can post replies straight from Outlook, even offline using the ribbon for discussion boards.... With the official release of SharePoint 2010 comes the introduction of Office Web Apps. The question everyone is asking is whether or not Microsoft's version of Cloud computing will take off as much as Google apps have.
